Promote your services, build up your client base and improve cash flow by running a discounted deal campaign.

Discounted deals done well are a great way to attract new clients to try out your spa. Generous discounts and limited offers can also create an immediate spike in sales. But be careful, as discounting can be costly if not done right.

Here are our top tips on how to run deals successfully.

What to discount

A good idea is to discount your most profitable treatments ( massage is a good example as it has a very small cost of sale ) so you can create attractive discounts that don’t incur a loss.

Consider running a deal to promote a new treatment. If the deal is good then customers will take more interest in this new treatment and your spa.

Running a deal when you know the spa will be quiet is more cost effective. Getting people in the door gives you the opportunity to upsell add-on treatments as well as targeting them in the future with direct marketing campaigns.

How to incentivize

It goes without saying, the bigger the discount the bigger the interest generated. Deals that offer 20% off will naturally catch the eye of potential customers faster than a deal of say 5% off.

Limited time offers have a strong effect on drawing people in. They create a sense of urgency and encourage customers to make the purchase with less consideration.

Where to advertise

FaceBook

By advertising your deals on FaceBook you can target your ideal customers based on their demographic, location, interests, etc. You can set FaceBook to only charge you when your deal is clicked on, therefore only pay for genuine leads.

Another benefit to advertising on Social Media is that you can send leads back to your website to book directly and avoid any booking fees.

Deal Websites

Websites like Pigsback, LivingSocial and Groupon are great channels to advertise your deals to a big audience of shoppers.

You will get great exposure but there is a considerable cost. Deal websites generally require that your offer is discounted to around 50% off. Their fee will a taken as a commision on the offer price, ranging between 10% and 20%*.

Spas.ie

Did you know that 40% of all Spas.ie visitors come looking for Spa Deals? Spas.ie members can advertise their deals commission free to this engaged audience of Irish spa-goers all year round.
