Excitement. Engagement. Awareness. Positivity. A few of the many great reasons to run competitions for your brand.
But running a competition will not only win the hearts and minds of the public. With a few tweaks it can win you business too.
We’ve been running competitions successfully on Spas.ie for 10 years now. Here are 5 of our top tips to really get the most out of a competition campaign:
1. Size of Prize
The bigger the prize the more entries you will get. For example a prize of an overnight break gets on average twice as many entries as a spa package prize. If the prize is worth a lot, don’t be shy in letting entrants know. Show them the prize value in your competition’s title e.g. “Win a Spa Break Worth €500”
2. Promotion, Promotion, Promotion
Promote the competition everywhere you can. Your website, on your newsletters, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Spas.ie. Sharing across multiple platforms will give you access to a bigger audience… at no extra cost.
3. Leverage Facebook
We find that Facebook has the greatest potential to get new entrants and gives great engagement. Ask followers to Like and Share the competition. This will bring a viral element to the competition and gain you more followers.
4. Take the Leads
Offer an Opt-In option to generate sales leads. In the entry form you can ask entrants to “Opt-In to receive special offers from us”. This way you can collect their email addresses for future marketing campaigns.
5. Plug your Brand
Use your competition to share news about your business! A nice idea might be to ask the question ”On what day are we reopening?” in the entry form. This way the entrants will need to become aware of this event.
