Do your housekeeping now so you can focus on sales and service when you reopen!
During quiet times, free from the usual distractions, it’s easier to organise your Marketing Strategy. Here are 5 effective ways to get your marketing activities into shape for reopening.
1. Review Your Marketing Strategy
With the market in flux, now is an important time to assess how you position your business. You may have to adapt to changes in consumer demands. You may also need to redefine and/or amplify your business proposition ( The compelling reason why a customer will choose your spa over a competitor ).
Tip: Keep your Marketing Strategy simple and achievable. A strategy is simply a plan to get you to your goal. The key things to review are: who your target customers are, what services to offer, your product price points and what promotions to run.
If you don’t have a Marketing Strategy, keep it super simple and maybe start with a 1 page plan. First state where you want to get your business to and then list 5 things you need to do to get there.
2. Search Engine Optimisation
Running a Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) audit might help you find ways to get your site up on the 1st page of Google. And being up high on Google means more business.
It’s probably best to hire a SEO expert to help you with this task, as it can be quite a lot of work. There are also software programs you can run to give you reports on how your site is performing on Google like SEMrush’s Audit Tool.
3. Update Your Website
Your website is your shop window and first impressions make a big impact. Clients will make a decision whether to enquire or book based on your website. So keeping your site accurate and appealing will boost sales.
Ensure your photos are up-to-date and that they give a real feel for your venue. If your prices and services have now changed be sure to have them live on the site. And with all good marketing communications, remember to tell your website visitors why your spa is worth visiting this year.
4. Social Media Planning
If you have a bit of extra time on your hands, get creative and start producing some new content for your Social Media followers. You can create it now and can schedule or post it at a later time in the year. This will help you focus on running your business later on when you’re busy.
Good things to post on social media are photos & videos of the spa, staff and services. Followers want to get a real feel for your spa. Tip: Keep it real and take the photos yourself with a decent phone!
5. Update Your Spas.ie Profile
Spa goers are always looking online for spa deals. Spas.ie ranks 1st on Google for searches like “Spas in Ireland”, “Spa Deals”, “Spa Breaks” ( and many more top terms )*. So having an up-to-date Spas.ie profile is a great way to attract new customers.
On your Spas.ie profile, make sure that all your Packages, Treatments, Photos and Deals are up-to-date.
Tip: 40% of all Spas.ie visitors come looking for Spa Deals. So be sure to have 1 or more Spa Deals uploaded for them to see you.
